Facial red veins, facial redness and leg veins are very common in both males and females and can be the result of numerous factors including sun damage, age, trauma or a skin condition called Rosacea. On the face they mainly appear on the nose and cheeks and both of these problems respond well to treatment. Whilst most conditions will be greatly improved following a course of treatments, occasionally treatments can be on-going dependent on the problem being treated.
Our skin care experts have a wealth of experience and knowledge in assessing the face, treating redness, facial red veins and leg veins. During your consultation with us all aspects of your skin’s health will be considered and discussed with you and we will suggest a treatment or product plan to allow your skin to look and feel it’s best. You can feel confident that with our team’s knowledge and experience, combined with our clinically proven treatments we will help your skin will look and feel the best that it can.
Some of the treatments we may recommend:

How does the laser work?
By exposing a pigmented or vascular lesion to short pulses of visible light, the temperature in the highly concentrated area of haemoglobin can be raised sharply, enough to damage the vessel wall and shatter. The vessels are then absorbed by the body, making them less visible or completely destroying them.
When would you use IPL?
IPL is useful as a more general tool to target skin concerns over a wider area. The yellow part of the light spectrum in the IPL is absorbed by the red in spider veins or other irregularities. It heats and damages the spider veins in a controlled way and narrows them down, gradually eliminating them. Utilising the laser and IPL in tandem gives us a strong toolset to eradicate pigmentation, spider veins, rosacea and other skin irregularities.
What can I expect during and after treatment?
Depending on your skin type (and the issue being treated) some redness and swelling may be visible, but will usually subside around 48 hours after treatment. The treated area may appear darker around 5-7 days later. During treatment, some patients may feel a mild discomfort, but there isn’t any need for numbing agents or anaesthetic. The treatment is quick and effective, usually requiring around 3-6 sessions once every 4-6 weeks.
Am I suitable for the treatment?
Treatment is suitable for most people. However, prior to treatment a free consultation is mandatory during which a medical history and assessment of the desired treatment area is carried out. This will then allow the practitioner to determine suitability for treatment, how many sessions required and the expected results. IPL is generally only used on fairer skin.
Are there any other treatments that are suitable?
Depending on your condition, we may recommend a course of Medik8 bespoke facials to compliment or replace. Rosacea is best treated with IPL.
Our specialists will assess you during your consultation and recommend the best course of action for your particular situation.
